September 13, 2007

WOW! I can't believe it's been one year. It has definitely been a hard one, and amazing at the same time. Sometimes I think, how did he make it through all this. That's kind of a dumb question. Justin is truly amazing. It's no wonder why he had so many friends all over. Not just here in Utah, but Canada as well. For all of you in Canada, Thank you for your support. He loves it!! He loves hearing from all of you.
Justin is doing pretty well. He still can not be left unsupervised, he is trying but it will still be awhile. We are trying to figure out what the next step for him should be. He wants to go home, and we would love nothing more than to do that however we need to make it safe, he can not really get around at our mom's house. That means renovations. And neither her nor I know how to do that. We are keeping our eyes, ears open to any suggestions. If anyone out there has one, please fill free to let us know.
Tuft still has his mouth wired shut. The kid won't quit talking. That's a weird thing huh! Most of you knew Justin as this quite, shy person. He is very talkative now. He still remains upbeat about everything!! I don't know how he does it. All I know is that when I get down about all this, all I have to do is call him or go sit with him and everything changes. He makes me a better person. There is no way I could go on without him. I still remind him every now and then "It's Mind Over Matter". Thanks~A~

Hi Justin & Family,

Wow, it has been a year, and I'm sure it has seemed like much more than a year. But just keep reminding yourself of where Justin has been and just how far he has come. It's amazing the great accomplishments he has made and he has an amazing family who has stood by him thru this journey. His attitude will surely help him thru his recovery. In a few years you will look back and be amazed at just how far he has come. And the time will not stand as still. I can't believe we are coming up on my son's 5th anniversary of his accident. I thought the time would go by so slow, but now I look back and it seems has passed so quickly.

I don't know just what kind of renovations you need in order for Justin to go home. We had to make some modifications for my son also. My sons friends family also had to have a bath tub taken out and have a roll in show installed and have the door widened for the bathroom. Possibly the next time I come to St George, maybe I can meet with you and see if I have any suggestions for you.

Glad to hear Justin is doing well, haveing your jaws wired shut is not a very enjoyable time. FOr my son we would blend up soups, desserts, and he drank lots of milkshakes.

Take care, Justin is always in my prayers. I have really liked the update on Justin thru the blog.

PS... Justin, Marc my son says keep up with your bicycling during therapy and he'll come back up to St George for another arm wrestling match with you.

Hi, you guys
Glad to hear Justin is doing so well. We think of him everyday here at Promise. I miss playing cards with Justin the most. So when is he going to have the wires removed from his mouth? My daughter is having a softball tournament in Nov. at St. George, hopefully I can go and maybe visit Justin. Well tell Justin to keep up the great work. Take care, Justin could not have done all that he has without the love and support of all of you. You are all always in my prayer.
